Oracle grabs all they can all for themselves

The Register headlined a few days ago: ‘Oracle finally targets Java non-payers – six years after plucking Sun‘ and before you are going into panic mode here are my thoughts. If you are using Intershop products with an Oracle Java Platform, Standard Edition Development Kit (JDK, SE) just as we intended you are good to go. But if you use Commercial Features in Java SE Product Editions like:

  • Java Flight Recorder
  • Java Mission Control
  • Java Advanced Management Consoleoracle
  • MSI Enterprise JRE Installer
  • JRockit Flight Recorder
  • JRockit Mission Control Console
  • JRE Usage Tracking
  • JRockit Real Time, Deterministic GC

you should read the referenced PDF document more closely because you might be targeted by Oracle!

PS: And yes the title is an imitation of Depeche Modes ‘Everything Counts’.
